The 2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer should avail of the improvements made to the model since its update in 2022. The same goes for the 2024 Grand Wagoneer L, an elongated version whose wheelbase is 18 cm longer, for an overall length of 5.76 meters (in comparison with the regular version at 5.45 meters). The Wagoneer L is new as of the 2023 model year. Its maximum cargo volume of 3,700 liters, which is approximately 400 liters greater than that of the regular Wagoneer, should remain the same for 2024.
With a vast cabin, enviable comfort and a wealth of standard equipment, these jumbo SUVs will probably feature a few minor modifications in terms of accessories and high-tech devices in order to remain competitive. It’s also possible that there will be some changes affecting appearance packages, according to the version (Series I, II and III). Last year’s biggest development, the Hurricane engine, a 3.0 L inline-six turbo producing 510 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque, should also be available in 2024. We’re expecting the release of the Grand Wagoneer toward the end of this year.
Apparently, the big innovation for the next year will be the arrival of the Wagoneer S, Jeep’s superb all-electric SUV, redesigned and smaller in size. It will be the topic of a future dedicated article.
The good-old 6.4 L V8 HEMI (471 hp and 455 lbf·ft) should also be back, along with the 5.7 L mild hybrid V8. It’s also worth mentioning that the available six-cylinder turbo powertrains will likely result in a higher overall trim level. Barring any indications to the contrary from the automaker, all versions of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer should arrive in Canada with an eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.
With regard to style and design, there will probably be very few changes to the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer L for 2024. They both already offer a very high level of luxury, in addition to an exceptionally smooth ride (thanks to adaptive air suspension). Fine materials (wood and leather) and state-of-the-art systems, including a number of screens distributed throughout the cabin, will be present, as well.
