Not surprisingly, the 2024 Jeep Compass remains a self-proclaimed “authentic Jeep.” In fact, this compact SUV, which fits snugly between the Renegade and Cherokee models, will be just as rugged as ever. Underneath its softer, urban appearance, the result of a previous remodel, it conceals a more powerful engine, reliable front suspension and solid traction, making it a highly efficient 4x4. In relation to the 2023 model, it should feature only a few minor modifications. As a result, the Compass will still be an affordable crossover that’s more versatile than its direct competitors, which, incidentally, are few and far between.
Chances are that the look of the Jeep Compass will remain substantially unchanged for 2024. Its unassuming elegance is chiefly thanks to an updated grille, LED headlights and fog lights, redesigned bumpers and taillights and modest dimensions (4,404 mm in length and 1,874 mm in width). An ample selection of colors will also be available, all at a very affordable base price.
When it comes to powertrains, Jeep recently equipped the model with a standard turbo engine that’s more powerful and better adapted to the demands of off-roading. So it would come as quite a surprise if the 2.0 L inline-four engine (200 hp/221 lbf·ft) weren’t present under the hood of the 2024 Compass.
It would seem, though, that the automaker has conducted some preliminary studies in anticipation of a Compass PHEV, a version inspired by the characteristics of the Avenger EV and the Grand Cherokee. However, Jeep hasn’t yet confirmed anything with regard to any such plans.
The interior of the 2024 Jeep Compass is pleasant and roomy, with comfortable seats and plenty of legroom. The overall presentation and the dashboard will remain simple, in keeping with the vehicle’s reasonable price tag. However, the 10.3-inch touchscreen may come standard on the mid-price version in 2024, although this is unconfirmed to date. Nevertheless, the optional technological suite will still be a must, thanks to the exceptionally user-friendly information and connectivity interface (with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and more).
